The last bus to Klerksdorp.
I thought I would give the greyhound coaches a go after my less than comfortable 6 hr ride on the Translux coach from Capetown to Mossel bay.
Especially as this next journey from Mossel Bay to Klerksdorp was to be a 14hr over night trip!! Not my favorite form of transport but you can’t moan at £30. Dewald Irma and their family saw me off from Mossel bay bless them. After lots of waving I settled down for my long journey, the coach was first class and they played dvd's until about midnight also serving tea and coffee. There is a lot more space than on a plane and it was especially so on this trip due to the few people on board, but even with two seats it was very hard to sleep. Never the less a good warm up to my 12hr Australian flight next week!! We snaked our way through the mountains and onto the flat lands and into the night. They swapped drivers 3 times and we arrived in Klerksdorp at 7.30am. Seun and Jackie were there to meet me in Klersdorp :-) and so I again went from one family home into another, how spoilt am I? I have covered a serious amount of miles whilst in Africa on coaches, planes, cars and bikes. Been from north to south and east to west an unbelievable journey. And yes I am available as a tour guide just email me for booking forms ;-) I am now staying with Seun and Jackie for my last two weeks in Africa and am off down a gold mine next week as well as a day shooting, and this time with rifles as well :-)
