Part of the furniture

That’s twice in OZ I have become "part of the furniture!!" And its not a bad thing. I dare say I wouldn’t have met half the people I have if I hadn’t been forced to stay still due to reasons beyond my control twice now. The first time was in Coogee bay and to be able to pay cash for my bike I needed to draw out enough cash to do the deal from the local papers and at $500 a day it took some time. And as you will know if you know me very well I can’t sit still for 5 minutes normally!! So I became one of the residents at the Surfside backpackers hostel for a couple of weeks. A good insight to backpacker life style and made some good friends there. And I will go back to visit before I leave OZ. I have now become part of the furniture again in "Amaroo" caravan/backpackers here on Phillip island. I arrived just before the Easter bank holiday and in need of tyres. I had to order them from the only local bike shop and that was in "Wanthaggi" a town just off the island. And by the time they came and where fitted it was only 3 days until the Superbikes. But its nice to feel at home while travelling and both these places and the people running them and residing there have made me feel that way so its all good :-)
